Smiles For Kids

Cookies Donated Since 2002

In 2002, we started sending these smiley face cookies to Doernbecher Children’s Hospital for kids who are dealing with serious illnesses. In 2016, we added Seattle Children’s Hospital. Our hope is that this little yellow smiley treat might give these kiddos and their families a bit of joy in the midst of some very serious, life-changing situations.

Here is a letter from Jeff J. that touched our hearts and made our efforts more than worthwhile:

“Hello,

My name is Jeff J. I have a 9 year old daughter who has spent years (on and off) in the hospital at Seattle Children’s Hospital since she was 6 years old due to a brain tumor. She now can’t walk, talk, or see, along with other issues.

My family and I have spent years of our lives in hospitals because of this cancer. I just wanted to thank you for what you do with the cookies you generously donate to Seattle Children’s Hospital. My daughter can’t take advantage of your cookies since she is no longer able to chew and swallow, but my wife and I have had your cookies now and then when they are available on the coffee cart run by volunteers at the hospital.

I meant to contact you months ago to thank you, but we have been very busy with 24/7 care of our daughter. These cookies are incredibly delightful and I have looked forward to them (more like addicted to lol) when we make our visits to the coffee cart. I am a man of few words and just wanted to let you know your cookies and generosity are greatly appreciated! THANK YOU AND YOUR EMPLOYEES for what you are doing for the children and families here at the hospital!!!”

We were blown away and humbled by Jeff’s letter, and as long as our cookies bring smiles to the recipients, we will continue to deliver them.
