Smiles For Kids

Buy a Smile, Help a Child

For more than 15 years, we have been sending these smiley face cookies to Doernbecher Children’s Hospital for kids who are dealing with serious illnesses. This year we added Seattle Children’s Hospital. Our hope is that this little yellow smiley treat, in the midst of some very serious, life-changing situations, might give these kiddos and their families a tiny bit of joy. It’s really a very small gesture in comparison to some pretty big problems.  We always wished we could do more.

Now we are excited and delighted to announce our new campaign…Buy a Smile, Help a Child. Up until now, we baked these cookies exclusively to give to the kids at Doernbechers. Now, we will produce, wrap, and sell these cookies and give half the profits to Doernbecher Children’s Hospital in Portland and Seattle Children’s Hospital in Seattle. We found a way to do more!

OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital   ranks among the nation’s Best Children’s Hospitals.

Nationally recognized physicians and nurses provide a full range of specialty and subspecialty care to tens of thousands of children annually, resulting in 200,000 discharges, surgeries, transports and outpatient visits annually in a patient- and family-centered environment.

OHSU Doernbecher providers also travel throughout Oregon and Southwest Washington, providing specialty care to more than 3,000 children at more than 200 outreach clinics in 15 locations.

Using state-of-the-art, secure two-way video and audio communication, OHSU Doernbecher’s Telemedicine Network connects pediatric intensivists and neonatologists to emergency room physicians statewide to help evaluate time-critical pediatric patient needs and assist with treatment plans.

We are united by a compelling mission: We provide hope, care and cures to help every child live the healthiest and most fulfilling life possible.

For more than 100 years, Seattle Children’s Hospital has specialized in meeting the unique physical, emotional and developmental needs of children from infancy through young adulthood.

Through the collaboration of physicians in nearly 60 pediatric subspecialties, we provide inpatient, outpatient, diagnostic, surgical, rehabilitative, behavioral, emergency and outreach services – regardless of a family’s ability to pay.

Together, we deliver superior patient care, advance new discoveries and treatments through pediatric research and serve as the pediatric and adolescent academic medical center for Washington, Alaska, Montana and Idaho – the largest region of any children’s hospital in the country. In 2016, U.S. News & World Report ranked Seattle Children’s No. 1 west of the Rocky Mountains – and No. 5 in the country overall – again placing us among the nation’s top children’s hospitals.
